Day 2 - Drink it up! 1. What sources of water had the woman at the well used to try to fill her life? 2. What kind of water did Jesus offer her instead? 3. How does her life parallel ways your life usually works?
there are a lot of ways to help people see God but one of the best ways is just being there for people who are in need. one of the things I wrote down for my list at the end was to try to recognize someone who needed prayer and go talk to them without them having to ask for help. Romans 12:5 says so in Christ we who are many form one body, and each member belongs to all the others, and if we belong to each other we should feel for each other and long to help one another. Later on in Romans chapter 12 in verse 15 it says that we should rejoice with those who rejoice and mourn with those who mourn.
Usually, the things of the world tempt us so greatly that we are content with being temporarily satisfied, even when it leaves us asking for more so soon after. Only God can truly quench our thirst. His source of living water is sufficient for us all. That is one of the most important things I've been learning these last few weeks.
Today's message was on where we spend out time - and what we allow to fill up our lives. Wow - very convicting to this one! I pray for the conviction to allow my time to be first for Christ and our relationship, everything else can come second.
On the last day, the climax of the festival, Jesus stood and shouted to the crowds, Anyone who is thirsty may come to me! Anyone who believes in me may come and drink! For the Scriptures declare, Rivers of living water will flow from his heart. "John 7 37:38"
Day 3 of the devotional (Luke 19:1-9) talks about our priorities and goals in life. Zacchaeus cared only about himself that he wasn't able to receive God's blessing of salvation and love. He was Blinded by sin. It reminded me of the sermon on Sunday of how the disciples didn't even recolonize Jesus on the shore when they were fishing because they were so consumed with their life. I know I get blinded by sin during the week when I get consumed with the go,go,go of life and I don't see God when he is right in front of me. I think we all miss out of God's blessings (love, joy, peace) when we get concentrated on Our school work, Our sports, Our dreams that we forget about Gods perfect will for us. I know I do at least, and that worship conference helped me get my eyes searching high again to what we are really looking for in life.
Todays lesson (week 3 day 3) was i guess you could say touching because it told you that putting others before you is what God wants...I think I took that correctly but I'm not really sure so can yall help me if I'm not correct.
good work buddy!! Thanks for setting this up
